International competition of Vocal Art - Paris 2016

The competition is divided in two sections : the first section is dedicated to young professional singers and takes place from 11 to 13 October 2016. The second section is dedicated to "Amateurs d'art vocal" and takes place on from 12 to 13 october 2016.

The competition ends on October 14, 2016, by the Laureates' Gala.

The contest will be held in Paris.

Section 1 : Young Professional Singers

Opera Grand Prix and Role at the Cluj Napoca Opera (Romania)

Eliminatory phase:

  • One French language opera air
  • One classical opera air
  • One melody by George Enescu (free choice)

Final :

  • One opera air from a composer of the 20th century
  • One other air of opera (free choice)
  • One melody by a contemporary French or Romanian composer

"George Enescu" Special Prize

Eliminatory phase:

  • One melody by George Enescu (free choice)
  • One melody by a contemporary French or Romanian composer

  • One air of opera (from the 20th century)

Contemporary Melody Special prize

Eliminatory phase:

  • One melody by a contemporary French or Romanian composer

  • A German lied from the 19th or the 20th century

SECTION 2 : AMATEURS OF VOCAL ART

Prizes and rewards

Young professionals section

  • Grand Prix Opera : 2000 euros, a concert and a role at the Cluj Napoca National Opera (Romania)
  • George Enescu Special prize : 1500 euros for the best interpretation of a melody by a contemporary composer and an engagement for a concert
  • Special prize : 1500 euros for the best interpretation of a melody by a George Enescu and an engagement for a concert

Amateurs of vocal art

The first prize is the participation at a Concert organised either in France or Romania and at a Master class under the direction of Leontina Vaduva

The list is not exhaustive, other choices are also allowed (as long as the creations are from the same period of creation).

Inscription fees


(Fees are payable by bank transfer by cheque, of which the information are given onto the registration's form.)
  • 75 euros for Young Professional Singers
  • 50 euros for Amateurs of Vocal Art


Rules

  1. Age limit:
    • Section 1 : Young Professional Singers : 37 years
    • Section 2 : Vocal Arts' Amateurs : no age limit, the competition is destined for those who have a passion for vocal art.
  2. Registration fees are non-refundable.
  3. The performances' order will be alphabetical
  4. The jury's decisions are final. The jury members will be open to discussion with candidates, at the end of all the performances or after the results announcement.
  5. The jury reserves the right not to award all the prizes.
  6. The competition final is public for both sections.
  7. The candidates have to pay their own transport and accommodation fees.
  8. A pianist will be at the disposal of those candidates that are not accompanied by their own pianist. All rehearsals with the pianists take place the day before the competition.
  9. The participation to the Laureates' Concert is compulsory.
